Free coaching · a real route for every ride
Windows is where most indoor cycling apps expect you to live — and also where you get the full ritual of downloading an installer, granting admin rights, waiting for a launcher, and letting it update itself before every session. You can skip all of it. Here's how to run a full indoor cycling app on Windows with nothing to install: a browser tab, your smart trainer, and a real 3D road.
Why no-install is genuinely better on Windows
No admin rights needed
Locked-down work laptop? A browser tab doesn't need permission to install anything.
No 12 GB download
Nothing eating your SSD, nothing to wait for before your first ride.
No launcher updates
No 'updating, please wait' between you and a warm-up.
Nothing left behind
Close the tab and it's gone — no background services, no startup items.
What you need
- A Windows PC or laptop from roughly the last decade — a browser-rendered 3D world is far lighter than a full game engine.
- Chrome or Edge. Edge ships with Windows, so you may already have exactly the right browser. Both support Web Bluetooth.
- A smart trainer or power meter broadcasting standard Bluetooth (FTMS or Cycling Power).
- Bluetooth on — built into every modern laptop; a cheap USB Bluetooth adapter covers older desktops.
Especially handy for a work laptop
If your only capable machine is a locked-down work laptop where you can't install software, this is the difference between training indoors and not. A browser tab needs no admin rights and installs nothing — it just runs.
A no-install Windows app that rides real roads
Moveee Indoor runs in Chrome or Edge on Windows with nothing to install. It pairs your trainer over Bluetooth, holds ERG targets, and rebuilds your own saved routes in 3D from real map and elevation data so the gradient drives your resistance. Rides save with full power data to your Moveee plan and Strava. It's free while in alpha, Chrome/Edge only.
The trainer you own doesn't care what's installed on your PC. Skip the download and just ride.
